Storage
disasters can occur with little or no warning. Accidental
deletion of files, formatting of drives, crashed RAID arrays or physical
drive damage doesn't necessarily mean all is lost. Data recovery can
be very time-intensive but in the majority of cases you will be back
up & running within 24 hours. Accidentally deleted files
can generally be recovered in a matter of minutes.
Please
bear in mind that the sooner you stop using the drive, the better
the odds are of recovering your data. Of course, the
best solution is a preventative one--establish a standard backup
routine and test it on a regular basis.
Forensic
data recovery can reveal droves of information that was
intentionally deleted in attempt to clear one's tracks.
Generally, the storage device would need to be removed from your workstation and recovery
completed
overnight.
